Welcome, "Own Your Power, Lead Your Way" Summit attendees! 

 

Here is the free gift mentioned in my interview with Melinda: a series of exercises from Essinova's Sensorium playshop. Taking you on a journey through our five senses, they each consists of a mindfulness exercise engaging that sense, a micro-workout of its corresponding sense organ, and some commentary on the science related to that sense. You can follow the timecodes below to jump to a sense you are particularly interested in, or let the video roll and follow along, in which case you will also be asked to write a haiku poem or make a drawing of something in your world!

 

Sensory exercises such as these not only give us delightful breaks during our busy day and sharpen our self-awareness, but also train our direct express, which is known to calm our limbic system and reduce our anxiety. This session was conducted and recorded during COVID-19. Although the pandemic is now behind us, new crises - near and far - have taken its place and many are feeling the same sense of uncertainty and darkness again. I hope these exercises will help you with grounding and self-care as they did our playshop participants, and tuning you into your inner voice for guidance and direction.
